  • Fight Fire With Water?

I married an ingrate. I went grocery shopping yesterday, cleaned my home, took wonderful care of the babe, and cooked dinner. I had to give up study time for school to achieve this. Then today, all hubby does is complain about things I forgot to buy yesterday. Funny, he forgets his lunch (which I also prepared) and I run barefoot in the grass after him, to make sure he has something to eat. (He's diabetic).

Right now, I feel like doing absolutely nothing (except schoolwork and taking care of the babe). Let hubby see how much the home depends on me.  My sister says I should "fight fire with water," but I'm not that goody two-shoes. I'm angry and feeling like I've been taken for granted. Why is it that men underappreciate their women?

  • I'll Pray For You

I was just on a featured Momaroo blog about abortion and it's garnered over a 100 comments. A writer from revelife mentioned, "I'll pray for you," and another blogger attacked her, saying it was condescending and insulting to say such a thing. Would it have been better if she said, "I'll send you good thoughts?" or "I will think good things for you?" I'm a Christian myself, so if someone says, "I'll pray for you," I'm honored and feel like that person is trying to do a kind gesture, no matter how small. For my atheist/agnostic friends, I usually say something like, "I'm sending good thoughts to you." They have always responded with happy faces and thank yous. So, to all the other people out there, if someone says, "I'll pray for you," how do you respond?

  • Chicago Cop Slayed

Here in Chicago, I've been hearing a lot about a cop killed in an attempted robbery. These 4 guys (all with criminal records) had a dare amongst themselves of who could rob a man at gunpoint. The man they chose to rob was an off-duty cop. The story can be found here.  What really irks me is the mother's response. The cop's father should have known better and shot to wound? Well, that would be like me going up to her and saying, "Well, you should have been a better mother and taught your son not to be a petty criminal." I just won't do that. Madam, passing the blame around helps no one. This is a very tragic event and both families have my deepest condolences.

Why do some young people think it is okay to rob someone for their motorcycle instead of working to obtain it the legal way? It's such a shame.

  • I Envy Babies' Abilities To Sleep Anywhere!

Case in point: my one-year old son, Giovanni.

Sleeping in a jumper, suspended above the floor, doesn't phase him.

Playing music is tiring work. Perhaps he's composing?

Giovanni loves to sit on my gliding ottoman! He rocked himself to sleep here. When I saw him nodding off, I snapped this opportune picture and put him to sleep in his crib.

Here he is asleep on the middle shelf of his changing table. I don't know why he chose to crash there; his boppy pillow is just underneath him.

At least he made it to his bed here.

Falling asleep anywhere, at any time would be fantastic. It'd sure come in handy on my transatlantic flights to visit family abroad!

Do your babies sleep in odd positions?
